How UNISEL is Boosting Productivity with Google Workspace

In November 2024, we had the incredible opportunity to conduct a 2-day hands-on training at Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), focusing on Google Workspace Productivity and Automation.

This training aimed to equip participants with practical skills to streamline their workflows, enhance collaboration, and harness automation tools to increase efficiency across their daily tasks.

The enthusiasm and curiosity from the UNISEL team made it an exciting and rewarding experience, as we worked together to unlock the full potential of Google Workspace.

Established in 1999, UNISEL is one of Malaysia’s leading institutions, offering quality education with a focus on innovation and industry relevance.

With campuses in Shah Alam and Bestari Jaya, the university is dedicated to preparing students and staff with the skills needed to thrive in today’s digital landscape.

Their commitment to embracing new technologies was evident throughout our training sessions, as they eagerly explored ways to improve productivity using Google Workspace and automation tools.

The training was designed to cover both foundational and advanced aspects of Google Workspace, ensuring participants could fully leverage the platform to boost their productivity. Over the course of two days, we explored:

• Mastering Core Google Workspace Tools – Learning how to effectively use Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and more to improve day-to-day operations.
• Collaboration and Communication – Discovering best practices for real-time collaboration using Google Meet, Chat, and Shared Drives.
• Automation with Google Apps Script – Introducing participants to scripting basics to automate repetitive tasks, such as generating reports and managing email workflows.
• Boosting Productivity with Generative AI – Exploring how AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini can assist in automating processes, brainstorming ideas, and enhancing productivity.

Through hands-on exercises, participants learned how to apply these tools effectively, giving them actionable strategies to implement in their workflows.

One of the highlights of the training was the practical, hands-on approach that allowed participants to engage with real-world scenarios. Whether it was automating email responses, managing document workflows, or using AI to speed up content creation, the participants were eager to put their new skills into action.

We also focused on providing personalized guidance to address specific challenges faced by the UNISEL team, ensuring they could immediately apply what they learned to their roles.

The energy and engagement from the UNISEL participants made the training truly enjoyable. Their willingness to embrace new tools and explore automation possibilities reflected their commitment to digital transformation.

The sessions were not just about learning—it was about collaborating, experimenting, and discovering how Google Workspace can be a powerful ally in day-to-day operations.
