This week, we successfully concluded a 4-day Security in Google Cloud Platform training program in collaboration with REDtone, specially tailored for the JDN MyGovUC Project Team.

But here’s the thing—they aren’t just ordinary team members. They’re the backbone of MyGovUC, entrusted with managing and securing 500,000 Google Workspace accounts across Malaysia.

Through this program, we aimed to enhance their expertise in Google Cloud security, equipping them with advanced tools and knowledge to protect the ecosystem that powers digital governance in Malaysia.

MyGovUC, or the Malaysian Government Unified Communication, is a centralized communication platform designed to unify and secure how government agencies interact and collaborate.

The platform integrates essential tools such as email, video conferencing, file sharing, and group chats, creating a seamless environment for public sector communication.

The Jabatan Digital Negara (JDN), or National Digital Department, is the driving force behind MyGovUC.

Established through the transformation of MAMPU (the Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit), JDN now operates under the Ministry of Digital.

JDN’s mission is to spearhead Malaysia’s digital transformation, particularly within the public sector.

Their responsibilities include overseeing projects like MyGovUC, ensuring that government digital platforms are secure, efficient, and future-ready.

Over the past four days, the JDN MyGovUC Project Team embarked on an intensive journey to master the principles of Google Cloud security.

This training was tailored to address the unique challenges they face in managing such a vast digital ecosystem.

The program covered critical areas such as:

• Optimizing Google Cloud configurations for data protection.
• Applying best practices to safeguard sensitive government data.

These skills are now part of the team’s arsenal as they continue to secure Malaysia’s government communication systems.
